A private business in the city of Peshkopia has become the subject of a serious threat, after the owner of the entity was demanded an amount of 50 million lek, with the warning that otherwise the business would be blown up.

According to preliminary information, the owner was sent a pizza box, inside which was a request for payment of a sum of money, along with some materials that are suspected of constituting a homemade device similar to an explosive.

After the package was discovered, the area at the exit of the city of Peshkopia was surrounded by police forces, and the perimeter was kept under control for about three hours to guarantee the safety of citizens.

With the arrival of demining and explosives neutralization specialists from Tirana, additional security measures have been taken, while it is learned that entities around the fuel area have also been closed.

Meanwhile, vehicle traffic was diverted and continued via the Peshkopia ring road.

As part of the investigation, several people have been escorted by the Police, while work is underway to fully clarify the circumstances and identify the perpetrators of the threat.
