The Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) and the National Bureau of Investigation (BKH) have conducted searches at the apartment of Israeli-American businessman Ron Yeffet on the outskirts of Tirana.

Checks were also carried out at the Ministry of Defense headed by Ermal Nufi, where a series of documents related to tender practices were seized.

Media Syri writes that searches were also carried out at the apartments of Ardi Veliu, director of KAYO, and Arjeta Puca, owner of the TIMAK company.

The interventions were conducted within the framework of investigations related to several accusations and wiretaps made public by former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj regarding arms trafficking.

What did Arben Ahmetaj declare?

"It's self-explanatory. We're talking about international arms trafficking. And not within the framework of the agreement, in the eyes of NATO, that Albania has with Ukraine. No. We're talking about arms trafficking from African countries, which will be packaged in Albania, or which are packaged in Albania, and which then take their way... We're talking about pure arms trafficking," Ahmetaj declared.

It concerns about 3 hours of wiretap material in Monaco, where American-Israeli Ron Yeffet is one of the main people mentioned.

In the conversations, according to the material published by Ahmetaj, Yeffet communicates with other people about companies, tenders, military equipment. Also, according to Ahmetaj, the conversations show the relationships with Albanian institutions and those of other countries and the role they have had.

In one of the published sequences, Ahmetaj highlighted a conversation where, according to him, the way in which competitions and tender procedures can be bypassed through the creation of KAYO-type companies in Albania is discussed.
