The tendering procedures for the expansion of the Tirana - Durrës highway have been closed without complaints from the economic operators, opening the way for the consideration of offers. The two tenders for the expansion of this road axis in the first 5 km, starting from Tirana to the overpass of Rinas, were opened at the beginning of April.

Meanwhile, interested companies could submit the documentation until May 8. After the passage of this phase, the Bid Evaluation Commission, at the Albanian Road Authority, will have to announce the winning companies for carrying out the works, and if this phase also passes without complaints, the way is opened for the signing of the contract and the start of the works.

In the tender documents, it is specified that the works for the expansion of this highway are expected to last 19 months from the moment of signing the contract. At the same time, it is specified that after the expansion of the highway, the speed allowed for the circulation of vehicles will be 90-140 km/h.

The two tenders for the expansion of this important road axis for the circulation of vehicles, in the first 5 km, have a total limit fund of 3.33 billion ALL, while the highway will be increased by 2 lanes in each direction of movement, making a total of is reached in 8 lanes.

The intervention in this road axis is intended to bring an improvement in terms of traffic, which currently presents numerous problems. This is not only for the citizens, but also for the businesses that operate along it.
