The Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, after the meeting of the Council of Ministers, was asked by journalists about the fall of the euro in the exchange rate with the lek in recent weeks.

According to Ibrahimaj, this has nothing to do with the electoral campaign, but there are three reasons according to her, not excluding dirty money. The minister emphasized that this decline has been influenced by the arrivals from tourism, remittances and foreign investments.

"I would stick to informal money, which exists, the Bank of Albania has a measurement and indicator for money outside banks, which is not related to electoral campaigns and does not have an additional element this year.

The devaluation of the Euro and the strengthening of the Lek is related to the income we had this year. Also, foreign direct investments have increased in net and this has been another reason. Inflows have been increasing from tourism, remittances and foreign investments," she said.
