Prime Minister Edi Rama in a public appearance said, among other things, that there will be no implementation of the 800 KWH band even in the month of December.
"In a matter of two or three days, the Minister of Energy will inform the public about our position. I believe that in the conditions where we have never had enough rain for the sake of truth, we are not in the direction of putting a bandage for the month of December, at least from the information I have. However, the full information will be given by the minister", said the Prime Minister.
In September, the Energy Regulatory Authority (ERE) decided to increase the price for the band above 800 KWH to 42 lek/kwh (from 9.5 which is today) for the October-December period, as a measure to face the energy crisis that came from the prices of high import prices, which exceeded 500 euros/mwh. This measure affected up to 12% of households in the winter months, when consumption increases.
The entity withdrew from the decision in October and November due to the improvement of the water situation that increased the oil production in the country as well as the decrease in energy consumption in the country.
