Zero interest housing loans for 300 doctors, military and police

The implementation of the favorable home loan program has started. New families of doctors, military and State Police employees can benefit from this program, while the interest will be paid by the state.

The Minister of Finance Ervin Mete announced that the winners were announced according to the selection procedures and criteria, after the administration of a significant number of requests. While he added that this program will be extended next year, where the aim is to expand the beneficiaries and categories.

"This support that is given to you today, in the form of zero-interest loans, is an expression of our obligation to translate the good economic moment that the country is going through, after it has faced a series of crises, into more solidarity and a redistribution even fairer in function of citizens' well-being.

This is a program, applied for the first time this year, made possible through special legal changes, administered online in e-Albania, as an extension of the housing programs, enabling in cooperation with the second level banks facilitated loans, whose interest is entirely subsidized by the state budget.

In this spirit, we will extend this year's initiative to support 300 law enforcement, defense and health workers with zero-interest loans in the next year, with the aim of meeting as much as possible the needs of employees who live away from workplaces, or who need more accommodation spaces.

The intention is also to consider expanding the beneficiaries and categories of these facilities next year.

As you know, we have also allocated a special fund for salary increases for the next year, in order to advance with a significant salary increase for the public sector, definitely including the law, defense and health sectors, with the aim to offer quality employment, a competitive salary even in the region and with the ambition not to stop here, but to continue further towards a greater support of public servants.

With the same expression of solidarity, in the normative act that we just approved, we have given support to the needy strata, as well as to pensioners, who received the second bonus within this year, with the aim that during the next year we will engage in an in-depth discussion about reforming both the social security scheme, that is, pensions, as well as other pillars of social protection for the needy.

The same normative act granted the food compensation for the employees of the State Police, precisely under the spirit of a dignified treatment of those who serve under the uniform of the Albanian state.

Because as I emphasized, it is our obligation to be in solidarity, to make the most fair policies and to support as much as possible all those who with dignity and honesty give their service in this country".
