The barometer of the World Tourism Organization has ranked Albania first in Europe for the highest increase in international visitors and second in the world after World Cup Qatar.
Prime Minister Edi Rama also shared the news on his social networks, who wrote that 9.7 million foreign visitors from January to September 2024 visited our country, where this achievement translates into income.
"Another international certification for this tourism year just comes from the Barometer of the World Tourism Organization, where Albania leads the European classification for the highest growth of international visitors and ranks second in the world after Qatar of the World Cup, while a "medal e arte" is awarded to us also in terms of receipts from tourism, with the highest increase compared to the period before the pandemic.
9.7 million foreign visitors from January to September 2024 and a wide variety of growing tourist markets are steady but sure indicators that Albania will continue to fill the walls with such certificates of international successes, which translate into more income for businesses, employment for families and a positive international image for our Albania, which could not even be imagined a few years ago", wrote Rama.
