Fatos Nano left this world today, perhaps without the feeling that he was conveying to eternity the last serious effort for a liberal Albania, without the blinding whiteness of the speculative and ridiculous division between patriots and traitors, between imaginary angels and devils, who love and hate the homeland.
A curse that has accompanied this nation for more than a century and that, apparently, will follow it for a long time to come.
Now that he is no more, it is easier to see the contrast with almost all of his peers, who saw politics as a horse that you ride once and never get off, and that to me is no small thing.
What he can be accused of today and forever is perhaps the best trait of his character with many lights and shadows, always according to legends.
Because for me, Fatos Nano was the only leading politician in this country who never took his power seriously.
While almost everyone else, before and after him, did the opposite, and in most cases, for the black people of Albania.
