Pros and cons of Lulzim Basha's (re)return

First there were rumors that he, Lulëzim Basha, will return. While now we see an increased activity of his, concretized with various meetings, with statements, with his justifications for the next step he took, with pledges for the earlier exclusion of Berisha since his declaration non grata, etc. Lulezim Basha has the right to return.

He has the right to evidence. But not in the context of democracy, this system, despite the effectiveness you have witnessed, still gives you the theoretical right to continue.

Lulëzim Basha has the right to claim to be the chairman of the DP precisely for the main reason that he has never been the chairman of the DP. He may have been a "de jure" president, but never a "de facto" president. Since 2013, when he was appointed its chairman, he has functioned as a delegated administrator of a company, but with very limited powers.

He never had the opportunity to function as himself, but always had to act as others instructed. He had to "complicate" and "sophisticate" the situation in DP, making it allegedly indecipherable to the public.

If someone is against this conclusion, it is quite easy to refer to the facts that at key moments, in important negotiations, in meetings abroad, Basha went for "consultations" to the Coin tower and returned from there more "enraged" , more objectionable than before. Or they can bring to attention his wild and threatening vocabulary during the visible protests organized by the opposition at the time.

Or taking radical steps such as burning mandates or abandoning previous local elections. Whoever thinks or concludes that these were Lulezim Basha's decisions, simply gives him more credit than he deserves. Precisely because Basha has never been proven as a powerful leader of the opposition, this gives him the right to claim (re)return.

But in the meantime, there is another equally strong reason against this (re)return. It is related to the little potential that he carries as the leader of the opposition. Not that it has been in ideal conditions to reveal this potential and we know its dimensions. But we have an indirect but unmistakable indicator to measure it. Lulezim Basha was chosen by Sali Berisha.

And there is no better scanner, more infallible scanner than Sali Berisha's selection at a certain moment, for a certain task. Because you were not selected on the basis of classic criteria, such as ability, oratory, charisma, integrity, personality, etc., but you were selected for their opposites.

Even during the exercise of his duties as an administrator and masker of the real ownership of the Democratic Party, Lulëzim Basha has shown these qualities in the best way. However, they are not liked by the public, especially the gray public, which the opposition needs so much, therefore, Lulëzim Basha cannot provide any perspective improvement to the Democratic Party.
