Look carefully!
It's hard to find a business or businessman that doesn't hear about SPAK being investigated.
Some of them have been taken under investigation or defendants, along with their companies, as companions of public officials, also under investigation or indictment.
Searches of homes or business offices, even without cases against them, have become routine. This is good, but abusing the right to search just to create terror is an open attack by the special prosecutor's office against the work that business does.
The point is, what urgency did SPAK have, that in the days of Christ's birth it had to raid private business premises, for investigations of tenders carried out 4 or 5 years ago?!
Then there is the media and public terror with the spread of news that "the businessman's apartment was searched"...!!!
And the terror continues when other names of businessmen and companies are announced with reference to "internal sources" that they will be investigated and searched, under the slogan "no one is untouchable!!!
This, people, is no longer called a war against corruption, but against the economy in this country.
Business is the engine of the country's economy.
But if we criminalize business because it buys and sells; because it builds, manufactures and sells products; because it performs public services according to contracts it has with the state, etc., we have hit the economy hard.
What business would survive a criminal and then a public collective attack under these conditions?!
What business does criminal justice have with a business and the contracts it has, a SPAK knows!
Under normal circumstances, business owes the state only the responsibility to pay taxes. While businessmen are responsible for other criminal offenses like any other individual. But doing business cannot be criminalized as it has been and is happening today.
A business is not criminally punished, even if it has given a gift to an official, whether under duress or willingly.
Punish the official, not the business!
Today's climate is such that businesses are seriously considering leaving. Only fools would not think so. Some have even done so...
On the other hand, the terror in the administration, where half of them do not sign for fear of being sued and the other half threaten to sue for being sued, certainly hits the economy. The state continues to be a major financier of turnover in the economy and non-payment of contracts or non-signing new contracts out of fear cause damage to the economy and block development.
Meanwhile, in this climate of terror, corruption has not only not decreased, but has become more expensive. The prices of corruption have increased 5 to 10 times. Fear causes this.
I walk and do business here under these conditions. Even if you survive the fear of the administration and the terror of the poor, you no longer have a secure market because the increased price cannot be borne by consumption.
This is what we have achieved with the reform of (impunity) that pleases the crowds. We destroy the economy that we call corruption!!!
If you ask people today about businesses, they will massively say they are "corrupt," "drug addicts," "bloodthirsty," "oligarchs," etc. This is exactly what our ancestors in the communist system said.
And they lit it up!! They applauded the "honest" prosecutors and the court who eliminated enemies, merchants, landowners who they called bourgeois and petty bourgeois, chicken and pig keepers, and, they ate grass until in the end they ate each other.
Here they are again, dwelling on that dark day.
This is just the beginning.
If politics does not become aware and stop this nonsense, it will get worse and worse, not for Edi Rama but for all of us.
