Edi Rama, Arta Dade and in the background scenes from the protest

For those who have had even a connection with the Socialist Party, what hurts the most in these extraordinary days for Albania is the human and civic degradation of the man who leads this party and government today.

Instead of seeing the tens of thousands of young people and citizens who fill the squares these days as a parent, as a fellow citizen, as a responsible leader who listens to the voice of his people, Edi has chosen the lowest path. He curses, insults, denigrates and anathematizes them. He calls our children in the square "monsters" and "fascists" (!).

Anyone who dares to protest, oppose, or even doubt, automatically becomes a "crow", "dallkauk", "tamtamexhi", "traitor to the homeland".

He is behaving not like a prime minister and statesman, but like a street urchin protecting his gang's territory.

When he took power in 2013, supported by a massive wave of confidence, Edi Rama was seen as the man of European culture and modernity.

Thirteen years later, the facade has completely collapsed. This massive protest that entered the streets of Tirana on the 20th has brought this collapse into sharp light.

A response to his nervousness came from one of the figures who knows the communication code (and behind the scenes) of the Socialist Party well, Arta Dade.

In a reaction to VoxNews, after Rama covered his face and attacked him in a post on social media, Dade takes a scan of his "language skills", leaving behind a strong taste of irony:

"About his language? As a linguistics expert, I can say that his Albanian is manipulative, he understands English but cannot speak it, while he does not know German at all. I would suggest that he stick to German for the moment, because he will need it more than the Albanian of protest and certainly more than the English of diplomatic corridors..."

A simple academic assessment as a tease about Rama's education? According to VoxNews, no. Apparently Dade's "German" is not a suggestion to browse Goethe's books.

The well-known site implies that what Dade calls “the language that will be needed more than the English of the corridors” is directly related to other corridors, those of justice.

According to some confidential information circulating in political and media circles, a voluminous file from German authorities has recently arrived at the SPAK offices. It concerns new wiretaps related to drug trafficking, a direct but more shocking continuation of what was revealed by the "Aruba File".

Does this explain the increased tension in the prime minister's posts, where attacks are becoming increasingly personal and less and less political?

Waiting for the answer, Dade's advice is both elegant and warning. Perhaps Edi has reached the point where no linguistic acrobatics will work anymore. /DITA
