The news about the legalization of cannabis (for medical purposes) did not receive the attention it deserves due to the more important developments yesterday.
It must be said that at this point, the Albanian government is setting an example of how to solve complex problems that are often causing headaches for democratic, Euro-Atlantic governments.
Just for a moment, imagine a situation if we didn't have the legalization of cannabis, what would we have?
Undoubtedly, endless debates and discussions about the pros and cons of cannabis. Hours wasted on television, in the Parliament and in the 20 thousand bars and cafes of Albania.
If we don't legalize cannabis, we will have endless laws, bylaws, VKM, bureaucracy, police, prisons, Guardia di Financa aerial monitoring, RENEA actions, elders in cells, policemen who turn into distinguished harvesters, journalists walking around the studio, etc., etc.
It is easy to play the role of a critic, but with legalization, crime also decreases.
Yes, don't be surprised, crime disappears just like the rabbit that the wizard in the hat disappears.
Along with it, the black market of mini-bags disappeared as part of the anti-bag reform to reduce the level of plastic. #STOPBAGSSELF DRUGS
Who needs a black market when the giving and taking of cannabis becomes legal and available to consumers under optimal conditions like in the other countries we aspire to go to, Colombia, etc.?
Remember the chronicles saved on VHS tapes when cannabis was fought with bags that were poured into rivers and polluting our environment? What about the images when the mountains of cannabis were burning and we were again making our negative contribution to the expansion of the Ozone Hole or the so-called "greenhouse effect?"

This is the past. The future is digitization, the digital economy, the economy in general, the clean environment.
The economy flourishes as if by magic.
The economy becomes healthier because money is legalized. The lek can break its jaws as it has broken its teeth with time, the euro, the dollar, the yen, the pound and even all of them together. A healthy economy also means healthy people. Cannabis is known to be used for medicinal purposes.
With the legalization of cannabis, we also deepen cooperation with partners and allies and extinguish the tensions that have arisen. So far there have been discussions with Brussels and others. Enough with complex negotiations and diplomatic efforts. We are all right with the legalization. Another step forward towards the EU.
We have been fighting for almost 30 years, three bloody decades of war against cannabis. And what did we gain by declaring war on a completely innocent plant and as it turns out a healing plant like cannabis? Fight against dirty money. Is there a more timid and innocent being than money? Fight against illegal constructions. Tritol. Desolation. Poverty. War on betting. Is there a war on entertainment? The Albanian has one life. Will he spend his whole life fighting simultaneously on several fronts?! Why not try peace. All the more, the war in Ukraine is too much for us.
The war on cannabis is over. Finally, a popular consultation was held for this war where 61% voted against the war and in favor of peace.
What the people want, the government does! (now someone will ask: Why isn't there a popular consultation: Should we increase the assistance, should we increase the salary, should we increase the pension?)
The answer is simple: It's a battle you can't win even if you want to. The government is convinced that the people themselves do not want peace on this issue, because then there is nothing to deal with and there is nothing to criticize politics for. If the people-politics quarrel ends, then there will be no more table conversations, but people will talk about the politics of other countries and not ours.
For now, the government is taking care to extinguish the foci of conflict and with a magic stroke, it found the solution: Not war, but peace. Amen!
