On the seventh day of the fire, the prefect of the Korča district, Nertil Jole, together with the mayor of Pustec, Pali Kolevski, and about 80 firefighting forces descended on the ground this morning.

In any case, we are in constant communication with the authorities, the Ministry of Defense, with the minister in particular, with the directorate of the national civil defense agency, hoping that it will not be necessary to engage the European mechanism for air intervention, however, if a need however, we have received support and guarantees to provide this service in order to protect one of the richest forest areas of our region and the whole of Albania.

Pali Kolevski, mayor of Pustec:  Today there are about 80 forces waiting to go to the fire pits. Today will be the most decisive day, as predicted by the specialists of protected areas and firefighters.

We have gathered here as a district, from all the municipalities of the district, from the FA, from the protected areas and volunteers from the village of Goricë e Madhe.

In these moments, the intensity of the flames has decreased as a result of the intensive work of the employees who worked even during the evening. According to the first information, it is learned that about 5-6 km have been brought under control, a linear line. As the prefect said, we have communicated with the civil emergency of Albania and with the Macedonian side, as well as with other partners who have expressed their readiness, we hope it will not be necessary and we will get it under control eventually.
