A fire in a warehouse in the Shkozet area has caused a power outage in Durrës, leaving part of the city without power.
The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Enea Karakaçi, announced that the incident occurred at around 15:40, when as a result of the flames, the 110 kV lines supplying the Shkozet substation were disconnected.
According to the minister, the situation remains difficult, as firefighters are still working to fully extinguish the fire. For safety reasons and at their request, one of the 110 kV lines is still out of operation.
The Transmission System Operator (TSO) brigades are on site and will immediately begin repairing the damage to the line as soon as the fire is completely extinguished and conditions are created for a safe intervention.
Meanwhile, the Distribution System Operator (DSO) has switched part of the supply to alternative lines, enabling the restoration of power in some areas of Durrës. However, the minister stressed that this solution is temporary, as the network remains overloaded and supply through the ring networks cannot continue for a long time.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy called on citizens for understanding, while ensuring that the OST and OSSH teams are fully prepared to restore normal electricity supply to all affected areas as soon as possible.
