Stefanos Kasselakis

The leader of the largest opposition party in Greece, Syriza, Stefanos Kasselakis has started a tour of meetings in the Epirus region since yesterday.

The tour, which will last three days according to the Greek media, also foresees a visit by Kasselakis to the Greek minority municipalities in the south of Albania.

After the stops in Thesproti and Preveza, today Kasselaki will visit Arta and Ioannina, while on Thursday he will finish his tour by stopping in minority villages such as Jorgucati and Bularati and will have meetings with minority entrepreneurs in the Municipality of Dropulli.

His agenda also includes a visit to the shops in the area, but for the Greek media it is surprising that the leader of the Greek opposition has excluded Himara from his tour and avoided a possible meeting in prison with Fredi Beleri.

Kasselakis' meetings with the Greek minority come at a time when Greek-Albanian relations have been "frozen" for months, due to the "Beleri" case and the prison sentence for electoral crimes of the elected mayor of Himara.

Beleri is still behind bars in Fier prison, while the biggest opponent of SYRIZA, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, has included him in the list of 42 candidates for MEPs of the governing party "New Democracy".

Kasselakis' agenda:

08:00: Meeting at the Military Museum of Kallpaqi with the Mayor of Pogon, Kostas Kapsalis, a short conference on the history and problems of the rural area and a meeting with the residents in the city cafes.

09:00: Entry into Albania from the Kakavija border station

09:30: Visit to the school of Bularati and the cemetery of Greek soldiers

10:30: Stop in Jorgucat. Meeting in Dropulli City Hall and visit to minority shops

11:30: Stop at the "Kalimera" center of the Vanister village where you will meet with minority entrepreneurs

12:45: Stop in Kakavija

12:45-13:00: Exit from Kakavija border station
