The Milan prosecutor's office has launched a second investigation against Stefano Boeri  on charges of illegal development design and construction abuse.

Journalist Alba Kepi reports that within a few days, Italian architect Stefano Boeri , the author of the reconstruction of Skënderbe Square in Tirana and several strategic urban projects such as the construction of the orbital forest " Metrobosco ", " Tirana Riverside ", " Tirana 2030 ", " Vertical Forest ", " Block Cube ", the extension of the new boulevard, etc., has been placed under investigation in a second process by the Milan Prosecutor's Office, called " Bosconoviglio ".

Prosecutors Paolo Filippini, Mauro Clerici and Tiziana Siciliano have filed charges of illegal urban development and construction abuse against architect Boeri and 6 professionals, including two municipal leaders of Milan, Alberto Viaroli and Giovanni Oggioni.

The investigation began in February 2024 into the project carried out by Stefano Boeri "Bosconovigli", worth 60 million euros.

This project aims to transform Milan's San Cristoforo railway station into a 14-story luxury apartment building, covered in vegetation, with an area of ​​80,000 square meters, a height of 40 meters and a capacity of 90 apartments.

According to the accusation filed by the Milan Prosecutor's Office, this project was approved in the absence of an implementation plan, foreseen for constructions that exceed the 25-meter height stipulated by law.

This lack of documentation has caused the Municipality of Milan a damage of 5 million euros.

The accusation is based on the approval of the building permit, signed by the President of the Milan 5.0 company and the municipal leader Alberto Viaroli.

The trial on the "Bosconavigli" file will begin in September 2025.

A full week ago, the Italian architect was placed under house arrest in the "BEIC" file on the construction project of the European Library of Information and Culture, worth 101.574 million euros. The accusation against him by architect Ciro Zucchi is influence and favoritism in the bidding competition in which 44 international studios participated and where they were members of the project evaluation committee.

They are also accused of making false statements in their conflict of interest declaration.

The investigations into this file began 15 months ago and include chat conversations in WhatsApp and Telegram groups between architects.

The first hearing for the questioning of Stefano Boeri on the "BEIC" file is scheduled for Wednesday, February 4, 2025.
