The US ambassador in Tirana, Yuri Kim, has visited the Dibra region, where, among other things, she stopped in the village of Sinë, the birthplace of the national hero Gjergj Kastrioti.

She has shared some photos on Instagram from the meetings held in Dibra, as she says that USAID is supporting a number of businesses in this area, contributing to the tourist development of Dibra.

The head of American diplomacy in Albania was welcomed by the owners of the guesthouses set up in this area as well as the tourist guides exploring the culture and history of this area.

Last week, I visited the beautiful region of Dibra to see how USAID supports business and tourism in Albania. In partnership with @albanianlocalcapacity & @sëedeninalbania, USA has been training local tour guides, supporting hostels and marking hiking trails. Together, we have already helped villages like Rabdisht and Vakuf attract more tourists from Albania and around the world. It is wonderful to see how US support has had a lasting impact on Dibra's tourism sector. It was a pleasure to meet the guesthouse owners and tour guides, learn how to make Dibra's famous Jufka, and explore more of the rich culture and history of Albania's wonderful north. I am glad that I had the chance to visit Sina, the birthplace of the great Gjergj Kastrioti!
