Dritan Dajti , sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of four policemen in Durrës, has made another attempt to be released from prison.

Dajti has filed a request through his lawyers in the Court of Elbasan, where he requests that the decision of the Court for Serious Crimes of July 2014 be declared null and void, by which he was imprisoned for life.

He claims that the given decision is invalid because it lacks the signatures of four members of the judging panel.

Always according to Dajti's own claims, the execution order of the prosecutor for the execution of this decision does not exist.

On June 11, 2024, the Supreme Court overturned the sentence of the Appeal for Dajti's 25-year sentence, leaving him in prison for life.

Earlier, Dajti addressed the Court of Elbasan requesting release from the cell, as according to him, he has served his sentence of 25 years in prison and that since August 17, 2024 he is staying in the cell in violation of the law.
