The Special Prosecutor's Office postpones by three months the investigations into former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj.
The deadline for SPAK to file the "Ahmetaj" file is set for December 22 of this year, after which the prosecution body is expected to submit investigations to the Special Court for whether or not the file will be sent for trial.
Against the former deputy prime minister, at the same time former minister of finance, SPAK has filed charges for committing the criminal offenses of "money laundering", "concealment of assets" and "passive corruption".
In July last year, the prosecutor's office issued an arrest warrant for Arben Ahmetaj and declared him internationally wanted, while in March 2024 he communicated the charges through his legal counsel.
Ahmetaj is suspected that during his function as a minister, he received several acts to enable entrepreneurs to conclude concession contracts.
