Besnik Pjetri, who is accused of killing his ex-father-in-law and ex-brother-in-law in the village of Gryk Zeze in Lezha, will remain in prison. The 49-year-old man, who was arrested on Friday by the Police, was introduced to the re-evaluation of the security measure at the Court of Lezha.

In the closed court hearing, it was learned that Pjetri did not say a word about the double crime that took place in August and the charges brought against him.

But after listening to the parties, judge Artan Hajredinaj accepted the prosecution's request and imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison" for the 49-year-old. Besnik Pjetri was put in handcuffs on Friday morning by RENEA forces, after the tracking-police work of the investigative and operational structures of the Lezha Police.

He was located and arrested in an abandoned apartment in the village of Kačinar in Mirdita, thanks to continuous searches and intense police pursuit. From the investigative actions, carried out under the direction of the Lezha Prosecutor's Office, it results that the 49-year-old man, on 29.08.2022, due to a conflict with his ex-wife's family members, shot and killed the citizens Pjerin and Gent Perjaku ( the father and brother of his ex-wife), respectively 56 and 32 years old. They were shot with a barrage of bullets as soon as they entered the courtyard of their apartment in the village of Grykë Zeze, and they died instantly from the wounds they received.

The police who immediately arrived at the scene identified the perpetrator, but did not manage to handcuff him and he remained on the run for more than 3 months. Father and son had returned on the day of the event from Italy, where they had been living for many years, after having a wedding in their hometown at some of their relatives. As it seems, the ex-son-in-law followed the movements of their targets and as soon as they returned to the apartment, he approached and fired a volley of bullets.

Peter, who was the father of two daughters, had been divorced for more than 6 years from his wife and since then had had constant conflicts with his ex-wife and her family. The 49-year-old man claimed that the family of his ex-bride he had debts and they had not paid him back, while recently they had not allowed him to meet even the girls, which is suspected to have been the reason for the serious crime.
