The 38-year-old, Sebastian Varaku alias Ervin Varaku , from Shijak has been handcuffed in Italy.

He was sentenced by the Durrës court to 6 years and 8 days of imprisonment. He has 1 year and 7 days left to serve in prison for bank robbery.

"In 2015, in Shijak, Durrës, a masked and armed citizen entered the branch of a second-level bank and took a quantity of money. The investigations showed that the author of this criminal offense was the citizen Sebastian (Ervin) Varaku", announced the police.

Likewise, a 52-year-old Italian man was arrested in Italy with the intention of extraditing him to Albania.

"This citizen was declared an international wanted by the Interpol Directorate, after the Court of First Instance of Gjirokastër, in 2023, assigned the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offenses "Creation of fraudulent schemes related to value tax added", carried out in collaboration, "Giving false information", "Forgery of seals, stamps or forms", carried out in collaboration and "Concealment of income". Citizens SC, AD and SC, in cooperation with Albanian citizens IQ and EB, had created a system of fictitious companies for the circulation of monetary sums", announced the police.

While the authorities are working on the extradition of the two persons above, a 40-year-old man has been extradited in the meantime.

"Also, thanks to the cooperation, the citizen Elmir Dashi, 40 years old, was extradited from Italy to our country, since in 2018, the Vlora Court of Appeal sentenced him to 4 years in prison, for committing the criminal offense of "Forgery of seals, stamps or forms", committed cooperation", announced the police.
