Fatmir Haklaj, the main accused in the murder of Azem Hajdari, was to be shot dead on the evening of November 4, 1999. By then he had escaped 7 ambushes and assassinations, but the bullet in the back he received in the ambush set up in the village of Bujan, only 50 meters away from the house of his friend Jaho Salihi (Mulosmani), would be fatal for him.

Tropoja's most powerful man, Fatmir Haklaj, had finally died, making his rivals take a deep breath. From that moment, Fatmir Haklaj almost became a legend.
