The Rome Court of Appeal has not approved the detention of 43 foreign citizens in centers built by Italy in Albania.
Italian judges decided to refer the case to the European Court of Justice. The effect of this decision is that the asylum seekers will be sent to Italy and released.
Therefore, the judges suspended the detention of 43 Bangladeshi and Egyptian migrants sent to the center in Gjadra in Albania.
Everything is left to the next decision of the European Court of Justice on safe countries. The asylum seekers will be transferred to Italy tomorrow.
From what we understand, this must have happened in the late morning hours, perhaps aboard a Coast Guard vessel.
With the suspension of the judges' decision, at the end of the deadlines for the validity of the bans, the migrants arriving from Bangladesh and Egypt will be able to return to Italy. A decision in line with those already approved from October 18 onwards, when the judges of the specialized section for immigration matters of the Rome court had not approved the bans, issued by the Rome police headquarters, for the first migrants who had been transferred to Gjadra.
