A man died tragically on board the plane, which had departed from Tirana to Manchester on Sunday night. The Ryanair flight from Tirana to Manchester Airport was forced to divert unexpectedly to London Stansted due to a medical emergency on board.

British media reports that the man, whose age has not been confirmed, as well as his identity, was pronounced dead at the scene.

London Stansted confirmed the flight was diverted shortly before 8pm due to a medical emergency on board.

The flight path shows how the plane took off from Albania on Sunday, before flying over Italy, Switzerland and France before being forced to land at Stanstead.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said that 'despite the best efforts of all involved, the man had died on the plane.'
