The arrest of Fatjon Murat by the Tirana police was carried out due to a fingerprint found in a pistol case seized on July 13 in Tirana.
Murati was declared wanted by order of the capital's prosecutor's office. But he was stopped two days ago, while driving in an armored vehicle, in the company of Endri Dokles and Gentian Reçi.
The police searched Dokle's armored car, but no illegal items were found.
"Ora News" learns that initially it was a police patrol that stopped their vehicle, and the persons in the car were asked to identify themselves through identity cards.
Dokle, Reçi and Murati gave the documents and then the police continued with the verification in the operating room.
After checking the names in the system, it turned out that Fatjon Murati was wanted as a suspect for the unauthorized possession of the arsenal of weapons seized in two apartments in Tirana.
Murat was interrogated but did not admit the crime. In his testimony, Murat explained that:
"...the weapons are not mine and I have nothing to do with them. I am unclear under what circumstances my fingerprint happened to be in one of the boxes where the pistol was kept, but I am convinced that it is all accidental. I know the arrested Kristjan Gjini, and some time ago I borrowed his car from this person. I cleaned the car in the back of it by removing some paper boxes, but without knowing what was inside them. I strongly believe that this was the moment when I could have left my fingerprint on the box found in Kristjan Gjin's apartment..." - Fatjon Murati confessed to the police.
Some time ago, Murati, Gentjan Reçi and his brother-in-law, Endrit Dokle, were interrogated by the Kruja prosecutor's office, as persons who could have knowledge of the circumstances of the event, where Brilant Martinaj, Diklen Vata and Besmir Hoxha were killed.
