Extradition of Ilir Duro

Ilir Duro, the 51-year-old who was extradited today from Italy to Albania, under the charge of drug trafficking, appeared earlier in the interceptions published during the crackdown on an Albanian criminal group operating in Italy.

The wiretapping emerged in January this year, but the operation had been under development since 2017. 

In 2017, Ilir Duro appears in the interceptions of the Italian authorities as he instructs other members of a criminal group to remove all the evidence that was in his house that incriminated him in drug trafficking. 

From the investigation started in 2017 between the Italian and Albanian authorities to dismantle the Italian-Albanian gang, 5 million euros and large quantities of drugs were seized, the mega-operation developed in coordination with EUROJUST brought 43 arrest warrants in both countries.
