The several-year escape of Lul Berisha, one of the most well-known characters of the underworld in Albania, has ended today.

Lulzim Berisha has been arrested by the Spanish authorities and his extradition to Albania is expected.

Meanwhile, the photo of Lul Berisha after his arrest has also been published. He is seen wearing a pink short-sleeved T-shirt and a green vest, while wearing a red hat on his head and a bleached beard.

Lul Berisha is burdened with a series of accusations.

In 2012, he was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Court of Durrës for several serious crimes, this sentence was overturned in July 2014 by the Supreme Court. The latter ultimately sentenced him to 25 years in prison, but only two years after this sentence he was released from prison, specifically in December 2016.

Four years after gaining freedom, Lulzim Berisha started another criminal process, where he was again declared wanted by justice. For him, SPAK has brought the charge of participation in the murder of Klodian Saliu, Vajdin Lame and his friend Artan Arsi, which happened in 2005.

As if these were not enough, in 2021, the Supreme Court overturned the decision to release Lulzim Berisha in 2016 and demanded his return to prison.

This request, which is expected to be fulfilled only after the completion of the process of his extradition to Albania, after the arrest.
