New details have emerged from the serious incident that occurred this evening in Markatomaj, Lezha, where a gas cylinder exploded in an apartment, injuring 6 family members as a result.

It is learned that the members of the Kola family were immediately transported to the hospital. It is reported that the head of the family, Saimir Kola, and his two children are in serious condition.

The head of the family was immediately transported to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana, after suffering major injuries to his body and requiring specialized treatment. The incident becomes even more shocking, as the Kola family had a wedding the next day, as they were going to marry their daughter.

The loud explosion, which was heard throughout the area, also caused extensive material damage to the two-story apartment.

Meanwhile, police are at the scene and are investigating the causes of the serious incident that shook Lezha this Saturday evening.

Police announcement:

At around 8:30 p.m., a gas cylinder is suspected to have exploded in a residence owned by citizen SK, 40 years old, in the village of Markatomaj, Lezha.

As a result of the explosion, two minor children, 10 and 13 years old, the owner of the apartment, citizen SK, 40 years old, as well as citizens LU, 64 years old, LB, 70 years old, and V. Gj., 58 years old, were injured.

Police services immediately went to the scene and assisted in transporting the injured to the Lezha Regional Hospital.

Citizen SK has been transported to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana for more specialized treatment, while the other injured persons are at the Lezha Regional Hospital, where they are receiving treatment and are out of danger to their lives.

An investigation team is at the scene, working to fully document the case and clarify the circumstances of the incident.
