The concession company owned by Castrat and Saillar that has set the beam on Nation Street is gaining millions of leks a day only from not applying the day-to-day exchange rate.

The "Albania Highway Concession" trades one euro for 123 leks, according to the statement made by journalist Emirjon Senja.

"No matter how the lek exchange course goes with the euro, the company maintains a fixed course for those who pay the beam fee in the money. If you go with euros, you'll pay 5 euros, but if you go with the money, the tariff is 660 lek, with a 132-lek exchange rate for 1 euro," Senja writes.

This exchange rate was at the moment the concession contract was tied. Since then the euro has always been played at a low and today it stands at 118 lek. With this course, each car would have to pay about 600 leks, i.e. 60 leks less.

The difference seems small, but according to the estimate made by journalist Emiroj Senja, this difference takes citizens about 46 mln new money a year.

"It is estimated that an average of 4,200 tools per day (the study that was done before the maintenance concession was granted) on the Nation Road. We take the good that half of them are tools that come from Kosovo to Albania and normally pay with euros by not being hit by the crazy beam course, while the other half (2100 tools) depart from Albania to Kosovo and consequently pay in the lek, where the beam sells the chicken to the euro. According to a simple estimate, taking the good news that all are cars, while there are also trucks, or buses that pay more, only by this crazy difference in the course of kembing, users of this road leaving Albania for Kosovo are abusively taken 126,000 leks a day, or up to 45,990,000 lek per year depending on the exchange rate". Writes Senja.

The journalist says this is money as a tail in the fat proceeds of the concession.

"We have been turned into payments of tariffs, bills, fines and loans convinced without any right. If this is not the rule of oligarchs, what else is it?" closes his post.
