Alienation of properties in Spitalë, Durrës Court imposes "house

The Durrës Court has imposed the security measure "house arrest" on former Durrës Cadastre lawyer Mikel Zaho.

Zaho is accused of abuse of office in collaboration with 4 Cadastral officials for the alienation of a land area in the Spitalla area of ​​Durrës. Zaho had been a wanted person since April of this year, after the Court, at the request of the Prosecution, had imposed the security measure "prison arrest" on him in absentia. Today, the court granted a lighter security measure.

Investigations launched in 2019 revealed a scheme to illegally acquire 151,000 square meters of land in Durrës Hospital.

The case returned in February of last year after a citizen complained that his land, still in litigation for recognition of ownership in the High Court, had been occupied by two entities, one of whom claimed to have purchased the property from another company.

Investigations revealed serious violations in the process of alienating the property. In this case, 5 people were arrested in April, including former Cadastre officials. Investigations show that the process of alienating the property was initiated in 2019 by lawyer Mikel Zaho and was signed by the deputy registrar, bypassing the then head of the Cadastre.

The lands were then sold by the beneficiaries, using employees of the Spitalla agricultural enterprise as false witnesses. Other persons were also involved in this scheme, who were part of the chain of violations for the alienation of properties.
