On Tuesday evening, 32-year-old Besmir Kumria was stabbed to death in a bar in the village of Kryekuq, Divjaka.

The perpetrator of this incident has been identified by the police as 25-year-old Xhesion Toromani.

From preliminary investigative data, as well as from witnesses at the scene, it is learned that the deceased Kumria was sitting in the bar together with several other people, when 25-year-old Toromani arrived at the scene in a vehicle.

The latter approached the victim's table and stabbed him several times.

After the crime, the perpetrator fled in his vehicle in an attempt to escape police pursuit.

However, after verifications and testimonies from residents of the area, he was detained by Fier police officers.

The investigative group set up for this case has concluded that there were previous conflicts between the victim's family and that of the perpetrator regarding an irrigation canal in the area, which is suspected to have been the motive for the serious incident that took the 32-year-old's life.

It is learned that Kumria was working in Himara and had returned to the apartment to accompany his wife, who was leaving for Germany, where she had found work as a nurse.

The Lushnja Police are continuing investigations to fully clarify and legally document the incident.
