The Tirana Court has remanded in prison Imer Krrashi, who is accused of crashing into 9 cars a few days ago while fleeing from the police.
In court, he expressed remorse for the incident.
"I regret it. I'm taking medication for depression, I'll pay the damages," he said.
He was arrested in the Dry Lake area of Tirana for illegal possession of weapons after a police chase that resulted in several vehicles and a motorcycle colliding. The driver and passenger of the latter were injured, who turned out to be an off-duty police officer and his wife.
As soon as the officers asked him if he had any weapons or other illegal items and ordered him to get down for a physical check, the 31-year-old, a person with a criminal record, accelerated the car in the Dry Lake area, speeding away.
In the footage released by the police, the moment was seen when the officers chased the young man, arresting him and seizing the pistol he had with him.
He apologized to the black platoons and expressed his willingness to compensate for the material damages.
