A serious event shocked Lezha yesterday where 62-year-old Arsen Dani stabbed his own 88-year-old mother Gjylije Dani .

The incident took place in the "Beslidhja" neighborhood, around 2:30 p.m., while the perpetrator is suspected of having mental health problems.

The incident happened in the apartment where only the elderly woman lived with her son, while the other two children live in Tirana.

Regarding the event, journalist Brixhilda Deda has given new details, as she said that it was confirmed by the statements made by the author that he suffers from mental health problems.

For "Albania LIVE", she said that Dani used to be an excellent student and graduated in medicine, but later, psychological problems started that have worsened over the years.

"It has already been proven by the statements he gave to the investigators that he suffers from mental health problems. He has often appeared unstable, as when he was arrested he did not resist, but only said 'I have killed 2 thousand people and you did not believe me, when I killed my mother, you believed me'.

As for his life, he graduated from medical school, friends and colleagues say he was excellent. He had been very healthy, it is not known when the mental health problems started. He also specialized in medicine. It is not known if he practiced the profession of a doctor",  said the journalist.
