The head of the Special Prosecutor's Office, Altin Dumani, reported today to the Assembly, highlighting the work done by SPAK.
During his speech, he also touched on the status of the prosecutor, raising it as a concern, since the 9-year mandate ends. Dumani said that he proposes that these prosecutors be given the opportunity to run again to be part of this structure, and not to extend their mandate.
"A concern made public is the lack of clear legal definition regarding the status of the prosecutor after the end of their mandate.
The mandate is 9 years and after 9 years SPAK Prosecutors return to the place where they were before. We have proposed the necessary changes to review giving them the opportunity to re-candidate to continue being SPAK prosecutors and not automatic extension of the mandate", he said.
