Bad weather situation in Shkodër: 1685 ha of land is flooded, 26 families

Shkodër Municipality reports that the total flooded area as a result of bad weather is 1685 Ha. Oboti street is currently flooded, while the 'Oblika 1' aqueduct is out of order.

So far, 26 families have been evacuated from Guri i Zi, Bërdica, Neighborhood 4 and Neighborhood 1. There is water in 5 apartments in Ajasem.

Numerous floods were reported in the country as a result of heavy rains during the last few days. The most problematic areas were reported in Shkodër and Lezhë, with flooded land and homes.

Information on the flood situation in the territory of Shkodër Municipality, date 22.11.2022:

From monitoring on the ground today, 22.11.2022, at 08.00, the flood situation on the ground continues to be as follows:

• The Shkodra Lake hydrometer at 08.00, marks the quota of 7.67 m. (Max quota of 8.70 m).
• The hydrometer of the Drin river at 08.00 marks the quota of 5.90 m. (Max quota 7.50 m).

N.A. Mountain side

1. The surface of flooded agricultural land is estimated at 900 Ha, mainly in the villages of Obot, Muriqan, Oblikë

2. Obot Street - The water level above the street reaches about 40 cm.
3. Oblica 1 water supply system is out of order as a result of the floods

Nj.A Dajç 1.
The surface of flooded agricultural land is estimated at 150 Ha, mainly in the villages of Mushan, Shirq, Pentar.
2. The Darragjat-Shirq road in the place called Urrelat e Shirqi has over 15cm of water.

N.A. Velipoja

The surface of the flooded agricultural land is estimated at 135 Ha. mainly the villages of Baks, Luarz. Chas.

A. A. The Black Stone

The surface of flooded agricultural land is estimated at 300 Ha, mainly in the villages of Kuç and Rrenc.

N.A.Bërdicë
The surface of the flooded agricultural land is estimated at 200 Ha, specifically in the villages of Trush, Berdicë e Siperme, Berdice e Mesme, Beltoje.

Evacuated families:

There are 26 evacuated families, a total of 99 people, mainly from the Administrative Units:

A. Administrative Guri I Zi, 19 families (77 people), 30 heads of live, small things are being evacuated.
A. Administrative Bërdicë, 2 families (8 people)
Ward No. 4, 3 families (7 people)
Ward no. 1, 2 families (7 people)

3 families (12 people) were accommodated in the dormitory, while the rest stayed with relatives.

Houses with the presence of water in the yards and inside the flats, a total of 5 flats:

1. Ward No. 4, 5 flats (Ajasem)

Shkodër municipality is ready with all its human, logistical and accommodation capacities to come to the aid of the population endangered by floods caused by rainfall and discharges of hydropower plants.
