A well-organized operation by Italian authorities has led to the discovery of a major drug exchange and the arrest of two people, after several days of intensive surveillance.

According to the investigation, it all started with the checks carried out by the "Flying" Squad, which had placed under surveillance a garage in Vizzolo Predabissi, suspected of being a base for the storage of narcotics by a 27-year-old.

Over the following days, officers followed the movements of an SUV circulating in several areas of Milan, until the vehicle headed towards Stezzano.

There, near a rest area, the key moment was recorded: the vehicle stopped next to a truck with Albanian license plates.

The 27-year-old got out of the vehicle and took two bags, which turned out to contain around 270,000 euros in cash, handing them to the truck driver.

In exchange, he received two plastic bags with a significant amount of drugs: about 10 kilograms of cocaine and 17 kilograms of heroin.

Immediately after the exchange, the police intervened, arresting both people involved in the act.

The operation continued with expanded checks in several other premises identified during the investigations.

In the 27-year-old's apartment in the Lodi area, 2.5 kilograms of cocaine were also found hidden in a backpack.

Meanwhile, in the previously monitored garage in Vizzolo Predabissi, inside a vehicle, 3 kilograms of cocaine and around 30,000 euros in cash were seized.

Italian authorities are continuing investigations to uncover the entire network involved in this criminal activity and possible international drug trafficking links.
