A drug distribution group was busted by the Elbasan Police, arresting 16 members, while 8 of them are wanted.

The Rapid Intervention Forces, in cooperation with the Elbasan Blues, arrived on the scene in the early hours of the morning of May 2 to execute security measures, 24 in total.

During the operation, 8 members of the gang were captured, while 8 others were arrested during the 1-year investigation period, with undercover agents and video footage. Among those arrested are:  Agron Biba, Rinor Hajdari, Indrit Shahinaj, Lulezim Feta and Mynyr Çepi.

Meanwhile, 8 other people are still being sought. Police also conducted searches in 27 apartments and premises. Elbasan police say they seized 9 kg of cannabis, divided into doses ready for sale, 100 grams of cocaine, also divided into doses, 5 scales, 7 vehicles and 17 mobile phones.

The police operation codenamed “Group” is being finalized, to crack down on criminal activity in the field of trafficking and distribution of narcotics in the Elbasan district.
The operation was carried out by the Narcotics and Illicit Trafficking Investigation Sector at the Elbasan DVP, under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction Elbasan, with the support of the National Security Force, Fier Unit.
As part of the operation, a total of 24 arrest warrants have been issued by the Elbasan Prosecutor’s Office.
16 arrest warrants are being executed (8 arrest warrants were executed during today’s operation and 8 arrest warrants were executed during the one-year investigation period).
Work continues to locate and capture 8 other citizens, who were not found in their homes during the operation.
Meanwhile, during the operation conducted today, 1 citizen declared wanted was also captured and another citizen was arrested in flagrante for criminal activity in the field of narcotics.
9 kg of suspected cannabis narcotic substance were seized, part divided into doses ready for sale, about 100 grams of cocaine, part ready for sale, 5 electronic scales, 7 vehicles and 17 mobile phones.
The structures for the Investigation of Narcotics and Illegal Trafficking of the DVP Elbasan, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, after an investigation pursued with special methods for several months, finalized the police operation codenamed "Group", which focused on striking citizens involved in the trafficking and distribution of narcotics in the cities of Elbasan, Librazhd and Prrenjas.
During the operation conducted this morning, it was possible to execute 8 arrest warrants for citizens I. Sh., 38 years old; RZ, 52 years old; G. Ç., 23 years old; AB, 49 years old; NS, 39 years old; LF, 33 years old; JI, 31 years old and M. Ç., 32 years old.
Also, during the operation, the arrest in flagrante delicto of citizen RH, 39 years old, was made, and the wanted citizen PQ, 54 years old, was captured, declared wanted by the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Durrës for the criminal offense of “Waste Management”, committed in collaboration.
Also, 27 decisions of the Court for inspections of various apartments and premises were executed.
The Investigation Structures of the Elbasan DVP, under the direction of the Elbasan Prosecutor's Office, continue their work for the complete legal documentation of this criminal activity, as well as for the capture of the wanted citizens.
The materials were passed on to the Prosecutor's Office for further actions.
