The United Kingdom will ask Kosovo to take in asylum seekers who arrive by dinghy on the island.
This is what the British newspaper " The Times " writes.
According to her, Kosovo is one of the countries identified by the British government to set up "return camps" where migrants will be sent after their requests to stay in Britain have been exhausted.
Among other countries mentioned by "The Times" are Serbia, North Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Representatives of Keir Starmer's government will soon speak with the leaders of these states to reach a possible agreement, the article says.
Previously, Albania had also been rumored as a possible destination for asylum seekers going to Britain.
But at a joint media conference on May 15 in Tirana, Prime Minister Edi Rama made it clear to his counterpart Starmer that an agreement like the one with Italy could not happen.
"I have been very clear from the first day we started this process with Italy that this was a single agreement with Italy, because of our special relationship, but also because of the geographical situation that is very meaningful. To be honest with you, a number of countries have asked us if we were open to such a thing and we have said no, because we are faithful to the marriage with Italy and the rest is just love ," Rama said.
