A serious accident resulting in the death of a young man occurred this Monday morning on the Fier-Lushnjë highway.

The incident occurred around 4:30 in the morning at the Kolonja roundabout, where a 'Volkswagen Golf' vehicle left the road and fell into the drainage canal.

The driver, a 35-year-old man from Tirana, died in the accident. Police went to the scene and called the Lushnja firefighters, who pulled the vehicle out of the canal, while the police are documenting the incident.

It is suspected that the driver lost control of the vehicle due to drowsiness and then, due to high speed, broke the iron barrier and ended up in the drainage canal.
