'We sell cheap, we rule faster', the Albanian cocaine boss's

An Albanian drug boss has revealed the reason why he believes British police will never defeat the gangs smuggling cocaine into the United Kingdom.

The gangster, who spoke to MailOnline on condition of anonymity, said that since 1995, Albanians have been important players in the cocaine trade in Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and Spain, having stable supply networks.

To enter the UK market in late 2000, they used the motto 'sell cheap and sell more'.

The Albanian, who served 17 years in prison as part of a large organized crime group involved in the cocaine trade, explained that an arrest did not necessarily mean the end of the road for that cocaine smuggling cell.

Since 2005, the National Crime Agency, which replaced the Serious Organised Crime Agency, and the Specialist Crime Directorate at Scotland Yard have successfully arrested and convicted hundreds of Albanians for the cocaine trade.

At the end of last year there were almost 1,100 Albanians in prison, including Balkan mafia bosses.

In addition to controlling the drug trade, the Albanian gangsters terrorizing the UK have also been convicted of murder, sex crimes, money laundering and people smuggling .

But, as soon as an Albanian organized crime group is destroyed, a new one replaces it.

The gangster told MailOnline that this was due to a practice called 'job selling'.

He said that when a gang member was arrested, if the police couldn't get their phone, his associates would sell it (along with the inside contacts) for up to £100,000. The Albanian drug lord boasts about how he and other gangsters managed to dominate the cocaine market.

"We had the highest purity of cocaine per gram. That made users buy the drug from us and abandon the existing dealers. That made my organization, where I was, become the main supplier of cocaine to Portsmouth and Bournemouth. In 2009/10 we reduced the price of a kilo of cocaine from £35,000 to £30,000. That caused a radical change in the market at the time," he told the Dailymail .

The NCA said last year that the drug trade linked to Albanians was active across the country in cities, towns and even rural areas.

“Their main objective when they make money is to get it out of the country as quickly as possible,” said Steve Brocklesby, Intelligence Manager from the NCA.

They smuggle money from the UK to Albania in whatever form. It is thought that hundreds of millions of pounds leave the UK and end up in Albania, where they are then semi-legitimised either in the banking system or to finance construction.

"We also know that Albanians will transfer UK money to currency exchange offices in the UK and Europe, exchange it into euros and take it back to Albania. We can expect to see an increase in the use of cryptocurrencies and other less regulated investments in the UK, as well as direct investment in the UK in the coming years."

The NCA has been contacted for comment regarding the Albanian's statements, but has not yet received a response.
