reaction

In relation to the incident that happened on the evening of 02/06/2023 in the elevator at the address: "Teodor Keko" Street, Unit 14, building 18/67, the State Inspectorate of Market Supervision carried out an immediate inspection by performing preliminary verifications, from which it turned out that,

a) The elevator suffered a defect during its operation under conditions of overload with a greater number of people, beyond the nominal load. This incident did not cause serious consequences for the health of the persons.

b) This elevator is not registered with the State Inspectorate of Market Supervision.

Referring to the legislation of this field, the person responsible for the operation of the elevator (builder or administrator of the building) has the legal obligation to register it. But in this particular case, there is no application to ISHMT for registration, while the elevator has been in operation since 2012.
On the part of the responsible persons (builder or building administrator), the conformity assessment was never carried out for this elevator ( certification) by an Approved Conformity Assessment Body (OMVK).

We submit that in the conditions when an elevator is not assessed for conformity with the technical rules by an OMVK organization, and when it is not registered with the ISHMT and is not subject to periodic inspections, the elevator is considered unsafe and is not allowed to is put to use.

c) At the time of the immediate inspection by ISHMT, the above-mentioned elevator was restored to work by the responsible persons.

d) Under these conditions, the inspectors took urgent measures to remove the elevator from operation until all technical defects found have been removed, including for this an Approved Conformity Assessment Body.
