The elevator fell from the fifth floor to zero, Police: 3 people were allowed, 5

The cause of the fall of the elevator in a building in "Astir" yesterday evening was the capacity being exceeded.

The Tirana Police clarified that the permitted capacity in the elevator was 2-3 people, but at the time of the incident, 5 people had boarded it.

Fortunately, the two injured persons, a man and a woman, after receiving treatment at the hospital, left for their home. The other three people who were also in the elevator were not injured.

" In relation to the preliminary information given yesterday evening, about the event that happened on "Alexandri i Madh" street, where the elevator of a building fell from the fifth floor to the zero floor, we inform you that from the first investigative actions it is suspected that the cause of the fall of the elevator was the exceeding of the capacity, since 5 people had boarded the elevator, while the allowed capacity was 2-3 people.

The 2 injured persons, after receiving treatment at the hospital, left the apartment, while the other 3 were not injured. The materials for this case were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Tirana Judicial District Court, for evaluation" , informs the Tirana Police.
