8 officers were suspended in Fier prison after the fight between Denis Bajri of the Shkodra group and Aldo Gjini of Fushë-Krujë, together with Jurgen Zoto in the common area. Those suspended, specifically the chief inspector and 7 guards, were on duty at the time.
The suspension "will continue until the completion of the investigation and assessment by the competent authorities on the implementation of functional duties by this employee. During this time, they will receive half their salary."
Investigators suspect that Bajri was attacked as a message from Ibrahim Lici, Bajri's fugitive rival in Shkodra. Jurgen Zoto was also wounded with a homemade knife.
After the event, Zoto was transferred to Burrel prison while Gjini was transferred to Drenova prison, in solitary confinement for 3 months.
