Numerous police forces have arrived this Friday on "Margarita Tutulani" street, in the "Petro Nini" area, as the interior of a building, which will collapse because it is claimed to have been damaged by the earthquake, will be emptied.

In the meantime, the residents say they are in court and refuse to leave the apartments. An elderly woman, a resident of this building, said that she will not take the furniture out of the apartment, but will set it on fire inside.

"I will set it on fire in there, I will burn there myself. Where to go?! To come and accommodate us, a room, an annex. I have lived here for 45 years. I am Albanian, I am from this country, born and raised here. Is there a state here?!", she said among other things to the media.

There are also bailiffs and IKMT troops, who are negotiating with the residents to leave the building. Most of them are elderly residents, who have these apartments as their only shelter.

A resident stated that a person who presented himself as the owner a few days ago offered her 5 million old lek, on the condition that he vacate the apartment. But, according to her, with 5 million old lek, they can't get me another house anywhere.

The ordeal of confronting these families with the state has started since 2013. They have been in several court processes and continue to be currently. A total of 17 families have been sheltered in this building, but 7 of them have left over the years, when the court proceedings started.
