Yesterday, at the age of 67, the well-known resuscitation doctor at QSUT, professor Ilir Ohri, passed away. Ohri's death has shocked not only his family but also his colleagues who appreciate him for his dedication.

Ohri, one of the most prominent figures of the Anesthesia-Reanimation Service and Albanian medicine, has made a special and extraordinary contribution to the development of this service in our country for more than 40 years.

He was one of the founders of the modern Anesthesia-Reanimation service and its leader for 30 years.

Prof. Ilir Ohri has left his mark in the establishment, operation and perfection of all resuscitation units in Tirana and throughout the country.

He is part of the excellent core of doctors who founded the School of Anesthesia-Resuscitation in the first half of the 80s.

Prof. Iliri has generously shared his extensive knowledge over the years with hundreds of anesthesiologists, who are grateful and proud to have been his students.

One of the peaks of the activity of Prof. Ohrid in the academic field is also the creation of the School of Anesthesia-Reanimation in the Republic of Kosovo and the preparation of a constellation of specialists in the field there. Also, he has supervised several doctorates at the University of Pristina.

The scientific activity of Prof. Ohrid is wide, quality and diverse. It is reflected not only in the clinical application of contemporary novelties in the field, but also in numerous articles and references in the national and international scientific press.

He was one of the founders of the Anesthesia-Reanimation Association and one of its active leaders.

Throughout his professional life, Prof. Ilir Ohri is characterized by his unsparing work in the service of the most seriously ill, by his high honesty, by his rare professionalism, by his solid integrity and by his steadfast personality.
