Kadare's novel is translated and published in Persian

The novel "A girl in exile" (Elegy for Linda B.), by the Albanian writer Ismail Kadare, translated into Persian by Mahmoud Gudarzi and published by the publishing house "Chetrang", appeared on the publishing market for the Iranian reader as well. This is reported by the Iranian news agency "Mehr".

In fact, this is not the first novel to be translated and published in Iran; the same publishing house previously published Kadare's other novel "Moonlight" translated into Persian by the same translator.

The "Mehr" news agency continues that Ismail Kadare, the author of this book, was born in 1936 in Albania and is one of the well-known writers of this country. He left Albania in the early 1990s and took refuge in France. Kadare became a member of the French Academy of Moral and Political Sciences in 1996 and subsequently received the title of officer of the "Legion d' Honneur".

His first novel, The General of the Dead Army, was published in 1961, and he subsequently published about 20 novels and several books of poetry. He is one of the candidates for the Nobel Prize in literature every year.

This novel by Ismail Kadare aims to reveal the secret of the suicide of Linda B, a young Albanian girl who lived during the rule of Enver Hoxha, the dictator of this country, and was exiled with her family to a village outside Tirana. In this novel there is a character named Rodian Stefa, who is a playwright from Tirana and for Linda, he is a symbol of culture and art in exile. The playwright has never met Linda, but signs a book about her and after hearing the news of her suicide, tries to understand his role in the formation of this tragedy.

Kadareja wrote the novel "A Girl in Exile" in 13 chapters between 2008 and 2009. He dedicated this novel to all young Albanian women who were born, grew up and spent their youth in exile.
