For this week, our country will be mainly affected by stable atmospheric conditions, but excluding today and Friday. According to the Military Meteorological Service, after days of being influenced by a frontal system, dry air masses of southwestern origin will finally penetrate our country.
But as it was said above, for today our country will be affected by mostly unstable weather conditions. Although the day started with clear skies, with the passing of the hours, it is expected that the cloudiness will increase to dense and occasional rainfall with moderate to moderate intensity in the form of thunderstorms. From time to time along the western lowlands the rainfall in the short term will be torrential in the form of downpours and storms accompanied by electrical discharges and hail.
But, starting from Tuesday and ending on Thursday, stable and dry air masses penetrate over our country. The weather is expected to be clear and partly cloudy mainly in the afternoon and afternoon. A gradual increase in temperatures is also expected, both in the minimum and midday values.
However, starting from Friday, unstable atmospheric conditions will return over our country. More specifically, on Friday, the rapid passage of a cold atmospheric front is expected. The weather is forecast to be overcast with moderate to high intensity rain in the form of showers and thunderstorms. Starting after midday on Friday the weather will remain cloudy again but the rain will lose intensity and become occasional light and localized.
A significant drop in temperatures is also expected in the midday values (see attached table).
