"I take the opportunity to underline that today we have all the reasons to feel better than a few years ago about the situation of pre-university education because today the measures and reforms made have begun to give their results and undoubtedly the general atmosphere and the space in which all teachers work is significantly improved".

This is how Prime Minister Edi Rama began his speech at the "Teacher of the Year 2022" ceremony that took place this Wednesday. He said that the process of recruiting teachers is already consolidated, this is because of the portal.

"The portal has provided continuous proof of competition and merit by completely relieving us of the burden of the sense of responsibility and guilt due to the ongoing injustices that had returned to the system as a result of that system that you have known intimately. I speak for those who have experienced this change", said Rama.

The head of the government said that running schools is still an open challenge.

"If today we have a guarantee that teachers are more than ever in the years after the fall of the response available to the profession, students and parents and free from yokes of various natures. This has caused the level of teaching to increase because teaching today has actors freed from these excessive and completely inappropriate stresses and without any rights. School management is still an open challenge. We do not yet have the necessary data at the school management level to say that as we have managed to guarantee that today in Albania the best teachers are the ones who teach, the same can be said for the school management who are the best that lead. This is not true. We have invested in this direction with the school of directors, with all those processes followed by the Ministry of Education to increase accountability and quality in management. In this aspect, important changes have taken place, but not uniformly", said Rama.

Rama emphasized that students who will attend teaching will benefit from a monthly scholarship which will be in the value of the minimum wage. Rama said that the government is increasing the incentive to enter the teaching path.

"What we are doing recently is to increase even more the incentive to enter the teaching path. You remember very well that until a few years ago those who were unable to take up any other kind of branch entered the path of teaching. So the weakest ones ended up on the road of teaching that let's go, or let's take the child to get a school, a diploma. These are then presumably turned into teachers. From the very beginning, we increased the level of demand for those who entered the teacher's school, while currently as we speak, we have turned the teacher's school into one of the programs that are a national priority. Students who will attend teaching will benefit from a monthly scholarship that will be in the value of the minimum wage. So from the moment of entering the school, until the end of the teacher's school,
