Prime Minister Rama has published a table on social media showing the ranking of judges' salaries compared to several countries.
According to the current ranking, Albanian judges are the second highest paid after Romanian ones, at around 3241 euros per month. Next comes Slovenia with 2842 euros and in fourth place is Greece with 2702 euros. Montenegro ranks eighth, with a salary of 1958 euros.
Meanwhile, with the increase that judges in Albania are requesting, they would be ranked first as their salary would go to 4,886 euros.
"A novice judge today in Albania receives a salary 500 Euros higher than his colleague in Greece, and with the decision made by Mr. Shkop himself, the salary should increase 2,000 Euros more per month than his Greek colleague and 3,000 Euros more than his colleague in Montenegro...", Rama writes.
