The husband of the Swedish ambassador in Tirana, Elsa Hastad, who is closing her mission in Albania, was the next guest of Prime Minister Edi Rama on his podcast.
Christof Landor, who is a writer, told quite a bit about himself, but also about his stay in our country. Asked by Rama what is the best thing about Albania, he briefly answered "Albanians", describing us as hospitable and warm-hearted people.
" The best thing about Albania, without a doubt, are the Albanians. The mountains are fantastic, the food is amazing, but for me it's the Albanians. You are warm, fun-loving, smart, and fun to be around. And for someone who lives at a slow pace, it's liberating to be here," he said.
Asked by Rama for an honest answer about what he does not like about Albania and Albanians, he said:
"You are warm-hearted and friendly people. But I get the impression that you are very friendly with strangers, but not with each other. The biggest problem in Albanian society is the lack of trust at all levels, between individuals, institutions and society. You see it in everyday life, in traffic, everyone will pass first. This is a big obstacle. Carelessness with the environment. Garbage".
"We are not only good with strangers, but with friends it is an obligation that we have inherited. It's more in our DNA ," answered Rama.
Asked about the places he preferred most in Albania, Landor mentioned the Pigeon Cave, where he said he has been not less than 20 times. He also said that the place that has left an impression on him is Himara and Qafa e Llogora.
"It is the Pëllumbasi cave, I have been there 20 times and we have been to Theth and Valbona twice. The north is fantastic. But I like the sea and my favorite place is Himara and the road there through Qafa o Llogora", he said.
